Biography
Hyerim Cho is a scholar-practitioner in Human Resource Development. Through her research and practice, she aims to promote employee well-being and create safe and inclusive workplaces through targeted interventions. She is particularly interested in public-sector organizations and workforces. Her research agenda focuses on:
- Understanding and addressing workplace aggression
- Advancing workplace inclusion for underrepresented groups
- Exploring strategies for organizational learning and change
- Developing HRD frameworks tailored to the public sector
Cho earned a PhD in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota, with a minor in Business Administration from the Carlson School of Management. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she worked at a South Korean public corporation, where she led the transition of in-person programs to virtual formats and introduced an asynchronous microlearning platform. She also gained consulting and applied research experience as a member of the Workforce Development and Research Lab at the University of Minnesota, working with public-sector partners to address a range of workforce challenges.
Her research has been presented at conferences organized by the Academy of Human Resource Development, the University Forum for Human Resource Development, and the Academy of Management, and has appeared in journals such as Human Resource Development Review, Advances in Developing Human Resources, and the European Journal of Training and Development.
