Biography
Olivia Baca is the Social Sciences Librarian for Education, serving as the library liaison for the College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS), along with the Organization, Information & Learning Sciences (OILS) department. In this role, she supports students, faculty, staff, and community members via outreach, information literacy instruction, and research and collection support.
Olivia began her library career at the local Taylor Ranch branch of the public library in 2006 and earned an MLIS from the University of Arizona in 2009, as a member of the seventh Knowledge River cohort. After nearly six years with Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) Libraries, Olivia joined the University of New Mexico in 2016, as a Senior Operations Manager, working within the Zimmerman Access Services team, and supervising a staff of ten. Her scholarly interests include career onboarding within the LIS field, graduate student engagement, and exploring ways in which representation functions within libraries.
