Biography
Olivia Baca is an assistant professor and a librarian within the Learning, Research & Engagement department, specializing in the social sciences. In this role, she supports students, faculty, staff, and community members via outreach, information literacy instruction, and research and collections support. Olivia began her library career at the local Taylor Ranch branch of the public library in 2006 and earned an MLIS from the University of Arizona in 2009, as a member of the seventh Knowledge River cohort. After nearly six years with Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) Libraries, Olivia joined the University of New Mexico in 2016, as a Senior Operations Manager, leading the Zimmerman Access Services team. She began her faculty position in 2020. Her scholarly interests include adult literacy, undergraduate and graduate student engagement, and exploring ways in which representation functions within libraries.
