Biography
Sarah R. Kostelecky (Zuni Pueblo) is an associate professor and director of the Indigenous Nations Library Program (INLP). At University Libraries she previously served as the director of Digital Initiatives and Scholarly Communication, the Research Services Librarian for Education, and an Access Services Librarian in the Indigenous Nations Library Program. Sarah earned her Master’s in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona.
Sarah recently returned from a term position for the Library of Congress as the Program Specialist (Indigenous Peoples), a new role that was focused on updating inaccurate Indigenous subject headings. Prior to UNM, Sarah was the library director at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM and has worked at the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Public Library. Her research interests include Indigenous representation in library collections, outreach efforts to Indigenous communities and cultural humility in libraries.
